Heavy winds disrupt train services on Northern and Main lines

Train operations on two major railway routes have been disrupted due to heavy winds and fallen trees on the tracks, the Railways Department said.

As a result, the Batticaloa night mail train on the Northern Line and several trains heading towards Rambukkana on the Main Line have experienced delays and interruptions.

While the Railways Department has attributed the disruptions to strong winds, further assessments are underway. Passengers are advised to contact railway authorities for the latest updates and alternative travel arrangements.
