Health Min. investigates alleged sexual abuse at Kalubowila Hospital

Director General of Health Dr. Palitha Maheepala yesterday ordered the Director of the Colombo South Teaching Hospital to investigate the incident where a woman was allegedly sexually abused during a medical examination.

It was reported the woman was allegedly sexually abused by a doctor in the office of the judicial medical officer at the hospital on Friday.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Health, Minister Rajitha Senarathne instructed Dr. Maheepala to investigate the incident, who in turn ordered the Director of the Teaching Hospital, Dr. Asela Gunawardena to look into the incident.
