Govt. to facilitate teachers get mobile phones, tabs: Piyal Nishantha

The government is developing a system to provide mobile phones and tab computers to teachers who are committed to online teaching during the pandemic. Primary Education, School Infrastructure and Education Services the online education system, State Minister Piyal Nishantha De Silva said.

Addressing the media at the Information Department, he said teachers are very dedicated to online teaching during this pandemic situation. 

Though the teachers are committed, most of them do not have proper facilities, such as mobile phones and tabs, the State Minister said.

Therefore, the education Ministry hopes to discuss with state banks to facilitate teachers obtaining mobile phones or tabs at a concessionary price by allowing a loan facility, he added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
