Former Speaker Ashoka Ranwala granted bail

Colombo, Dec. 12 (Daily Mirror) - Former Speaker and NPP Parliamentarian Ashoka Ranwala, arrested in connection with a vehicular collision in Sapugaskanda on the night of December 11, has been granted bail.

The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court ordered his release on cash bail of Rs. 200,000 this evening.

Police said Ranwala was taken into custody on charges of reckless driving and failure to avoid an accident following the incident.
