Fmr. sports presenter Brian Thomas remanded

Former sports presenter Brian Thomas was yesterday ordered to be remanded on charges of financial fraud by Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had arrested the suspect on February 10 after recording a statement from the suspect.

When the case was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate Bandara Nelundeniya, the CID informed the Magistrate the suspect had taken Rs.140 million from a businessman in an alleged fraudulent manner citing that he was a mediator of a popular clothing store.  

After hearing the facts, the Magistrate ordered to remand the suspect till February 18.

Thomas also served as Media Manager at Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). (Yoshitha Perera)
