FCID arrests Wimal’s ex-media secretary

Colombo, June 5 (Daily Mirror) - Former Media Secretary to Wimal Weerawansa, Prasad Manju, has been arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) in connection with an investigation into the alleged misuse of state resources, Police said.

Police said the arrest was made following a complaint alleging that vehicles and fuel belonging to the State Engineering Corporation were misused during the period when Weerawansa served as a Cabinet Minister.

Investigators are probing claims that resources of the State Engineering Corporation, including vehicles and fuel, were used without authorization.
