Eight Sri Lankans rescued from illegal cyber center camp in Myanmar

March 04 (Daily Mirror) - Eight Sri Lankan nationals who were forcibly detained at an illegal cyber center camp in Myanmar have been rescued, Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Myanmar, Janak Bandara confirmed. 

The rescue operation was conducted under the intervention of the Myanmar government.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Ambassador Janak Bandara said the detainees are currently held at the Myawaddy Central Police Station in Myanmar.

“Steps are being taken to repatriate the rescued individuals,” he added.
