Colombo, May 23 (Daily Mirror) - The Ministry of Education announced today that Muslim schools will be in session on May 26 and 27, 2025, due to a revision in the school holiday schedule for the Hajj festival (Eid al-Adha).
According to the Ministry, the Hajj festival, which falls on Saturday, June 7, will result in school holidays for Muslim schools on June 6 (Friday) and June 9 (Monday) to accommodate religious observances.
As a result of this adjustment, the Ministry has designated May 26 and 27 as regular school days to compensate for the holidays granted in June.
The second academic term for Muslim schools will now officially begin on Monday, May 26.
The Education Ministry has urged all relevant school administrators, teachers, parents and students to take note of the revised schedule and make necessary preparations.
