Don’t queue up for petrol next three- four days: Minister

Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera today requested people not to queue up for petrol next three-four days.

He told a news conference that the next petrol shipment was due on June 23 and diesel shipment was due on June 24.

He also requested private bus operaters to obtain fuel from the nearest SLTB depot and added that required fuel stocks were released daily to SLTB depots.

He also said diesel vehicles engaged in tourism sector, school vans and vehicles engaged in staff transport could also obtain fuel from the nearest SLTB depot.

The Minister said arrangements have been made to provide fuel from SLTB depots twenty-four hours a day.

He urged public transport vehicles not to queue up for fuel in other fuel stations.(Ajith Siriwardana)
