Doesn’t think President won public’s favour: Fonseka

MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka said that he does not think President Ranil Wickremesinghe has won the public's favor.

Addressing the media, he said that there are some people in favour of him.

"People who receive food and drinks, who can earn some foreign exchange or who can operate a racket think that the country is now stable and the incumbent President is taking the country in the right direction," he said.

"But in reality, we see those things will not happen," Fonseka said.

"If the opposition puts forward an unworthy person, then Rail Wickremesinghe will win the election. That will depend on the candidate nominated for the election," he said. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
