Dead body found floating in Polgolla dam

A body of an elderly man was found floating on the side of the Polgolla dam today, the police said.

The victim has been identified as a 74-year-old male and a father of two. 

The victim's son told the Daily Mirror that his father had last called him at around 11.41 am yesterday.

Even then the victim had not mentioned anything suspicious.

The victim is a resident of Menikhinna area, Kandy.

The body was taken to the Kandy national hospital for a postmortem examination while the police have launched an investigation. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
