Court orders arrest of Deshabandu Tennakoon

Colombo, Feb 28 (Daily Mirror) - The Matara Magistrate’s Court has issued an order for the arrest of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon over the Weligama shooting incident in 2023, police said today.

The order includes the arrest of seven other Colombo Crimes Division personnel.

The shooting took place near the W15 Hotel in Weligama, where a police officer was killed during an intervention.
