Cop scolds soldier in Kandy: IGP calls for action

Colombo, April 25 (Daily Mirror) - The Acting Inspector General of Police has ordered an investigation into a video circulating on social media showing a police officer scolding a soldier near a queue at the ongoing exposition of the Sacred  Tooth Relic in Kandy.

Police said that after the video came to the Acting IGP’s attention, he instructed the Superintendent of Police in charge of Kandy District 1 to launch a probe.

The Acting IGP has also directed that strict disciplinary action be taken against the policeman concerned, based on the findings of the investigation.
