Colombo Municipal Councilor arrested for threatening Municipal Treasurer

The Cinnamon Gardens Police has arrested Colombo Municipal Councilor Mohamed Ramsey for allegedly threatening the Colombo Municipal Council Treasurer.

Police said that he was arrested today after recording a statement regarding the incident.

The suspect was released on a surety bail of Rs. 50,000 bail after being produced before by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Bandara Nelumdeniya

A group of the administrative staff of the Colombo Municipal Council earlier staged a protest at Town Hall against the Councilor accused of allegedly threatening the Municipal Treasurer.
