Circular issued advising government employees to wear face masks withdrawn

Colombo, June 4 (Daily Mirror) - The circular issued by Western Province Deputy Chief Secretary B.N. Damminda Kumara advising heads of all government institutions to advise their employees to wear face masks, has been withdrawn.

The Western Province Chief Secretary's office said the decision to withdraw the circular was taken as wrong a interpretaion of the letter has been circulated on socila media.

The Western Province Chief Secretary said the circular was issued only for the employees of the Western Province Ministries and departments housed at the Western Provincial Council building.

The Chief Secretry said all government employees in the country have not been advised by the circular to wear facemasks.
