While alleging that the police is gathering evidence on the All Saints Church hand grenade case, Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith said the church will not accept such deeds.

“We will not accept the decisions made on the All Saints Church grenade case which are based on evidence gathered by threatening people,” Cardinal Ranjith said during a webinar he had with some Sri Lankan catholic expatriates during the weekend.

He said the church will carry out its struggle till the truth is unveiled on the hand grenade case. “We will also strive to mete out justice to Muni who has been arrested after the incident,” he added.

Also the cardinal said the church has been forced to seek international assistance to find out the truth behind the Easter Sunday attacks as all efforts made  to do it within Sri Lanka have failed. “I will be getting the support of foreign catholic bishops while three parties which are already involved in finding out the truth about the Easter Sunday attacks will obtain UN membership soon. I will also seek the support of diplomatic missions of the countries whose citizens were affected by the Easter Sunday attacks.” he also said. (Yohan Perera)
