Channa Jayasumana says 10 MPs with dual citizenship should resign

Parliamentarian Prof. Channa Jayasumana said there are around ten MPs with dual citizenship and they should resign now with the enactment of the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution.

He said the latest amendment cleared by Parliament bars dual citizens from becoming parliamentarians.

“If these MPs honour the Constitution, they should quit ,” he said. (Kelum Bandara)
