Cess on imported cement reduced by Rs. 1

Colombo, Sep 8 (DailyMirror) - The government has reduced the cess on imported cement, the Ministry of Finance said.

The cess tax on 01 kg of imported cement has been lowered by one rupee with effect from September 6.

The tax on artificially colored or white cement now stands at Rs. 4 per kg, down from Rs. 5. 

Also, the cess on cement imported in packages of 50 kg or less has been reduced from Rs. 8 to Rs. 7.
