Car, lorry gutted by fire during road mishap at Nugegoda

A luxury car crashed with a lorry and caught fire at Delkanda Junction in Nugegoda last night and both the vehicles were destroyed by fire.

The driver and another on board the car were admitted to a private hospital in Narahenpita with injuries.

It was reported that the car that was going towards Maharagama from Delkanda Junction was driven at terrific speed, rammed head-on with the lorry which was parked on the side of the road.

The accident took place during some sound and musical equipment were being unloaded from the lorry to a studio complex owned by a private TV channel, the police said.
