CCTV footage shows underworld member stealing motorcycle

A police investigation has revealed that the motorcycle which was reportedly used by the suspected underworld members to rescue notorious underworld drug kingpin Makandure Madush, had been stolen.

A youth has lodged a complaint with the Wellawatte Police claiming that his motorcycle which was parked along the Wellawatte Beach Road on Sunday had been stolen, when he returned to the location about three hours later.

CCTV footage showed the said motorcycle being pushed away along the Charlemont Road near the Savoy Cinema in Wellawatta.
