CA issues writ order quashing indictments against Janaka Bandara tennakoon

The Court of Appeal today issued a writ order quashing the indictments served against Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon in connection with a murder in 1999, ruling that it was illegal.

The order was issued when a writ petition filed by Minister Tennakoon requesting the court to cancel the indictments was taken up for hearing today by a bench comprising of Chairman of the Court of Appeal A.H.M.D. Nawaz and Sobitha Rajakaruna. (Thilini De Silva and Ranjan Katugampola)
