Brothel raided – four arrested

Colombo, May 25 (Daily Mirror) - A group of four women engaging in prostitution were arrested by the Bandarawela Division Special Operations Unit during a raid last morning on a brothel run by a woman under the pretext of a massage clinic at Bindunuwewa in Bandarawela.
One of the suspects was a 45 year old woman from Bandarawela North who had been carrying on the racket while others were 60, 35, and 47 years of age from Balapitiya, Ratnapura, and Balangoda areas.The police had carried out the raid with the help of a decoy posing as a patron of the brothel. 
Investigations revealed that the women had charged Rs.3000 to provide services to a man for two hours and that the 60 year old women from Balapitiya was in increasing demand.A police team under OIC Special Operations Unit CI Nishantha Gunatileka had carried out the raid on the instructions of ASP Ruwan Fernando and SSP A.A.R.P.Amarasinghe.
