Army intelligence officer remanded over Lasantha’s assassination

The warrant officer attached to the army intelligence service who was arrested on Friday in connection with the investigations into the assassination of journalist Lasantha Wickrematunge, was remanded till July 27, today.

He was remanded when he was produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court.

The officer was arrested on charges of having abducted and detained Lasantha Wickrematunge’s driver.
