Ariyalai shooting probe handed over to CID

IGP Pujith Jayasundera has ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over the investigation in to the shooting incident at Ariyalai in Jaffna on October 22.

A 27-year-old man was killed and another was injured when two unidentified gunmen shot at them at Ariyalai in Jaffna.

The victims were traveling on a motorcycle when they were shot at. The deceased was a resident of Ariyalai and a fisherman by profession.

The Jaffna Police conducted the initial investigation into the shooting. No one had been arrested over the shooting.
