Alleged murder of businessman Dinesh Schaffter: Travel ban imposed on Brian Thomas

The Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today issued an order preventing former English cricket commentator Brian Thomas from leaving the country in connection with investigations into the murder of Chairman of Janashakti Insurance Company Chairman Dinesh Schaffter.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Harshana Kekunawala imposed travel restrictions in respect of two passports belonging to Brian Thomas pursuant to a request made by Borella Police.

Meanwhile, the Additional Magistrate called for a detailed report pertaining to telephone conversation in respect of deceased's mobile phone number.(Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
