All children summoned to schools from today

Through a circular issued last Friday (11), the Education Ministry advised the relevant officials to call all children to school as usual from today (14).

The circular has been sent to all schools and pirivenas, instructing them to call all students from Monday (14).

The Ministry directed the schools to take pertinent measures in consultation with the zonal education directors at times of any emergency situation in relation to COVID-19. 

The new school term begins on March 7. Earlier, students in classrooms of 20 or less were called to school five days a week. The other students were brought to the school in segments. 

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry requested parents to provide extra face masks when sending their children to school starting today. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
