Air quality good in several cities, moderate elsewhere

Colombo, April 9 (Daily Mirror) - Good levels of air quality were recorded in Kandy, Kegalle, Trincomalee, Mullaitivu, Batticaloa, Kalutara, Hambantota, Polonnaruwa and Moneragala, while moderate levels were recorded in most of the other cities.

The Vehicular Emission Test Trust Fund of the Motor Traffic Department reported the air quality levels recorded during the last 24 hours.

Accordingly, moderate levels of air quality were recorded in Kegalle, Nuwara Eliya, Trincomalee, Mullaitivu, Batticaloa, Kalutara, Hambantota, Polonnaruwa, and Moneragala.

It is forecast that the Air Quality Index (AQI) will range between 38 and 64 during the next 24 hours, indicating moderate levels in most of the cities.
