Abeyratne wins 800m event in Kinami Michitaka Memorial Athletics Meet in Japan

Gayanthika Abeyratne won the women's 800m event at the 10th Kinami Michitaka Memorial Athletics Meet in Japan today.

Abeyratne clocked a winning time of 2 minutes 04.26 seconds.

In this tournament organized by IAAF, the women's 800m event was held in three stages and Abeyratne managed to take the first place by recording the best time.

She also won the women's 800m event at the 33rd Shizuoka International Invitational Athletic Meet returning a time of 2:04.35. By: Susil Premalal
