A 10-hour water cut in Colombo

Colombo residents are set to experience a 10-hour water cut today as the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) announced that water supply to several areas in the city will be suspended.

The NWSDB reported that the water cut will apply to the Colombo 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 areas beginning at 7 p.m. tomorrow (4) and ending at 5 a.m. on Sunday (5).

According to the Water Board, the water cut is necessary as part of the ongoing essential maintenance work under the Ambatale Water Supply System Improvements and Energy Saving Project.

The NWSDB has advised residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements to store water during the water cut period.

Further, the NWS&DB has requested the cooperation of the public to conserve water during and after the water cut. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
