18-day-old baby dashed on the ground

An 18-day-old baby was killed after he was dashed on the ground by a 22-year-old woman in Polgasowita this morning.

The accused was arrested on charges of having dashed the baby on the ground.

Police said she was a relative of the baby’s father and was living with the family. The woman is alleged to have grabbed the baby from the mother’s arms and dashed the baby boy on the ground.

The infant was rushed to the Wethara Hospital and later transferred to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital. The infant had died while receiving treatment.
