Colombo, Jan 18 (Daily Mirror) - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has fulfilled 10 of his key election promises by November 2025, while a further 10 are currently in progress, according to the latest update of the 'Anura Meter' manifesto tracker.

The assessment shows that nine promises have recorded no progress, while one promise has failed. The review monitored 30 major pledges outlined in the President’s 2024 election manifesto and incorporates measures announced in the 2026 Budget. However, the evaluation was completed prior to the impact of Cyclone Ditwah.

The promises tracked under the Anura Meter were selected based on their national importance and high level of public interest, covering critical policy areas such as economic reform, governance, anti-corruption, law and order, and social protection.

The Anura Meter is a best-effort initiative by Manthri.lk to improve transparency around the fulfilment of election promises. It was preceded by ‘Maithri Meter’ and ‘Gota Meter’, which tracked the manifestos of Presidents Maithripala Sirisena and Gotabaya Rajapaksa respectively.

Seven of the 30 promises currently tracked were added based on public feedback, and Manthri.lk has invited citizens to nominate additional pledges they believe should be monitored.

Manthri.lk is Sri Lanka’s only parliamentary monitoring platform and is managed by Verité Research, the country’s largest independent think tank. The full updated status of all tracked promises is available in Sinhala, Tamil and English on the Anura Meter website.https://manthri.lk/en/anura-meter
