Investigate bribery, corruption at  N’Eliya MC and UDA

In Nuwara Eliya, it is common for private buildings or extensions to be constructed without any permits, even on mountain slopes prone to landslides. Many of these structures are built with the cheapest materials, look awful and do not fit in with the landscape of Nuwara Eliya at all.

I think it’s best to give some specific examples rather than making broad allegations. Authorities in SL will have no space do any work rather than keep on investigating. Write to CIABOC with specific allegations. Remember, there is always a bribe giver and taker, both are in the wrong. Sri Lankans are in the habit of wanting to jump the queue by using influence or bribing. Some Officials also purposely delay even moving a file, to get something. We will have to tolerate this until Digitalisation comes, not long more to go.
