Women in the frontline to steer bus services

The female conductors appointed to the Sri Lanka Transport Board received their letters of appointments yesterday at Makumbura Transport Centre.   

Deputy Minister of Mass Media Kaushalya Ariyaratne and Parliamentarian Samanmali Gunasinghe were the chief guests of the occasion.   

A group of 20 female conductors recruited to the SLTB received letters of appointments. The special uniform for them was introduced during the ceremony.   

SLTB Chairman Sajeewa Kanagaratne and several senior officials were present at the occasion.
