Woman hits cop with shoe after court orders child handed over to husband

• Arrested on charges of obstructing police duties

A woman, apparently aggrieved by a court order to hand over the eight-year-old child in her custody to her husband, has hit a police officer with one of her shoes within the Point Pedro court premises.

The woman who behaved in this manner has been arrested on charges of obstructing police duties, causing injuries, and committing contempt of court.  Following the arrest, suspect Aynkaran Pavida, 36, was produced before court. She is now in remand custody till February 13.
