Suspended Parliament Deputy SG complains to Bribery Commission against Speaker

• Says he was suspended based on a personal dispute with the Speaker and against the Speaker’s alleged corrupt actions 

Former Deputy Secretary General of Parliament Chaminda Kularatne, who was suspended, lodged a complaint with the Bribery Commission yesterday against Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne. 

He lodged the complaint alleging that he was suspended based on a personal dispute with the Speaker and against the Speaker’s alleged corrupt actions. 

Attorney-at-Law Mithun Dias said his client has filed the complaint not against the government but against the Speaker, over alleged corrupt activities. 

He said they expect the Bribery Commission to conduct an impartial investigation into the complaint. 

Deputy Secretary General of Parliament Chaminda Kularatne was suspended by the Staff Advisory Committee of the House recently.
