Podi Lessi brought back

A underworld gangster and international drug trafficker Arumahandi Janith Madusanka De Silva alias “ Podi Lessi” who had been arrested in India was brought to Sri Lanka last morning.   

He had been arrested by the Indian authorities with the help of the INTERPOL and handed over to a team of Sri Lankan police.   

“Podi Lessi” released on bail on December 09, 2024 had fled to India by sea and was arrested by the Indian police at Mumbai in January 2025. He was brought to Katunayake International Airport by SriLankan flight UL 142 in the early hours of last morning and handed over to the Elpitiya Division Crime Investigation Unit.
