ISF to host “Sing Along with Chandimal” to support civil security officers’ welfare

The Industrial Security Foundation (ISF), the representative body of Sri Lanka’s civil security service, will host a musical evening titled “Sing Along with Chandimal” on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 7.00 p.m. at Ape Gama, Battaramulla.

The event is being organised to raise funds for a Welfare Fund aimed at supporting private security officers, many of whom are retired members of the Tri-Forces and the Police. More than 75 per cent of the proceeds are expected to be directed towards the welfare of members and their families.

Sri Lanka’s private security service traces its origins to May 1956, when commercial security patrols first began in Colombo. Today, the sector has grown into the country’s largest civilian security network, employing over 200,000 personnel who serve in key public and private institutions, including ports, airports, hospitals, refineries, media institutions, and BOI projects.  The Industrial Security Foundation was established in 1992 to strengthen and professionalise the industry and was later granted legal status under Act No. 51 of 1999. Operating under the Ministry of Defence, the ISF continues to promote professional standards, training, ethical practices, and unity within the sector.

The musical night will feature popular artistes Chandimal Fernando, Sohan Weerasinghe, and Susil Fernando. Guests will be treated to an evening of music, fellowship, and appreciation, along with dinner, with BYOB facilities available.

Tickets are priced at Rs. 6,500 and are available via Ticketministry.com and through member security companies.

Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, will attend as Chief Guest.
