A hawk which was being attacked by crows was saved at a village in Jambugas Mawatha in Badulla. Chandratilleka Jayaweera a wild life enthusiast had saved the Raptor and handed it over to the wildlife conservators. It was about to fall a prey to the crows when saved by the villager.
Wildlife Conservators said the hawk of a rare species may have migrated to the country and that its wings had been damaged when attacked by crows. They said the Hawk was fairly large and may have been about three years old.
Rawanaella Range Wildlife Conservator D.H.C.S. Bulathsinghala said the hawk would be released to the Rawanella forest reserve after providing it with the necessary treatment.
