The Lanka Responsible Care Council (LRCC) will host its bi-annual Responsible Care Members’ Day Conference and Responsible Care Excellence Awards on Monday, March 09, 2026 at The Barnhouse, Panadura.
Now successfully organized for the fourth time, this flagship industry gathering continues to serve as a national platform to strengthen sustainability leadership, operational excellence, and responsible business practices across Sri Lanka’s manufacturing and industrial sectors.
The event will commence with the Members’ Day Technical Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by the Excellence Awards ceremony from 5:30 p.m. onwards.
Over 100 member companies representing some of Sri Lanka’s leading manufacturers and industrial organizations are expected to participate. The conference aims to provide practical knowledge, strategic direction, and international perspectives that support industries in advancing sustainability performance and long-term resilience.
The keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Barry S. Dyer of the Responsible Care Leadership Group of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA). His presence reinforces Sri Lanka’s alignment with globally recognized sustainability frameworks and highlights the country’s growing role in promoting responsible industry practices within the international arena.
A Broader Commitment to Sustainable Industry
While Responsible Care originated as a global initiative to improve environmental, health, and safety standards, today it represents a broader commitment to sustainable development, transparent governance, and continuous improvement across multiple sectors.
In Sri Lanka, LRCC works closely with member organizations to integrate sustainability into corporate strategy, risk management, operational efficiency, and stakeholder engagement.
This year’s conference is structured around three key pillars of sustainability — resource efficiency, value chain accountability, and energy performance. Each technical session is conducted in collaboration with a respected industry partner whose expertise and long-standing commitment to sustainability bring significant value to the programme.
Session 1: Resource Efficiency & Circular Economy
In Partnership with INSEE Ecocycle Lanka (Private) Limited
The first technical session focuses on Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy — a critical shift in how industries manage materials and waste. Conducted in partnership with INSEE Ecocycle Lanka (Private) Limited, this session highlights the organization’s leadership in delivering sustainable waste management and resource recovery solutions in Sri Lanka.

Session 2: Managing Scope 3 Emissions in Complex Value Chains
In Partnership with Control Union Inspections (Pvt) Ltd
The second session addresses the growing importance of managing Scope 3 emissions — indirect emissions occurring throughout the value chain. As global markets increasingly demand transparency and carbon accountability, companies must strengthen their capacity to measure and manage emissions beyond their direct operations.

The ultimate goal of this session is to guide the industries for the shift from managing emissions within company boundaries to collaborative, ecosystem-level transformation built on long-term partnerships and accountability
Session 3: Energy Efficiency & Sustainable KPI Achievement

The recognition not only celebrates achievement but also encourages continuous improvement across the membership network. It highlights organizations that successfully integrate environmental stewardship, operational excellence, and community responsibility into their core business strategies.
A Collaborative Path Forward
The 2026 Responsible Care Members’ Day Conference and Excellence Awards reflect the power of collaboration. By bringing together industry leaders, international expertise, and committed partner organizations, LRCC continues to create a platform that fosters learning, accountability, and innovation.
