BOI Toastmasters hosts UFO, space discussion



 

  • President of the BOI Toastmasters Club says discussion highlighted the need for humanity to remain united, live peacefully and protect the planet
  • During the session, Sirisena discussed reports of unidentified flying objects, the scale of the universe and the possibility of extraterrestrial life beyond Earth

The BOI Toastmasters Club held a session on extraterrestrial life and unidentified aerial phenomena on April 20 at the BOI Auditorium in the World Trade Center.   

The event, titled “Are We Alone? Exploring the Universe and the Mystery of UFOs / UAP,” featured Ananda L. Sirisena, president of the Society for Planetary SETI Research and a representative of the International Coalition for Extraterrestrial Research.   

During the session, Sirisena discussed reports of unidentified flying objects, the scale of the universe and the possibility of extraterrestrial life beyond Earth.   

He said reports from different countries and the existence of trillions of galaxies suggest humanity may not be alone in the universe.   

Chanaka Kumanayake, president of the BOI Toastmasters Club, said the discussion highlighted the need for humanity to remain united, live peacefully and protect the planet.   

The BOI Toastmasters Club said it will continue to hold sessions aimed at promoting knowledge-sharing and public discussion on science, technology and other emerging topics.   

Before the event, Sirisena and members of the BOI Toastmasters Club executive committee met with Sulakshana Jayawardena, acting chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka.
