Wood Energy and Career Growth

We want to live in calming sanctuaries that bring peace and success. We desire our spaces to be connected to nature.  Living by the riverside, close to lush green woods, growing organic food, and breathing fresh, unpolluted air signifies emotional well-being and invites good fortune into our lives.

The ancient methodology of building homes consistently yielded positive results, as houses were constructed using natural materials. Walls were made of simple lime mortar, sand, and clay, which allowed the transfer of natural energy. Doors and windows were strategically positioned to ensure maximum flow of energy, sunlight, and cross ventilation. Many homes featured an open courtyard in the centre to channel nature’s energy, a crucial element in both Vaastu principles and Feng Shui. Homes with large spaces surrounded by greenery symbolized freshness and serenity.

There was a time when we all lived in close connection with nature, embracing a deep gratitude for all that the bountiful earth provided. Green architecture, or green design, is an approach aimed at reducing the harmful effects of buildings on human health and the environment. Vaastu and Feng Shui emphasize harmony and balance between humans and nature; moreover, the concept of green architecture has been supported by these ancient sciences for thousands of years. What makes the word “green” so special—is it just a colour in the spectrum? In Feng Shui, green symbolizes renewal, fresh energy, and new beginnings.

Green represents the wood element and is said to nourish growth and health. It calms the nerves and balances the entire body by bringing healing vibrations from nature. From the fresh spring colour of newly opened leaves to the deep green of a mighty oak tree, there are literally hundreds of shades of green to choose from in your Feng Shui applications. A great way to incorporate green in Feng Shui is by using actual plants with lush green foliage.

Keeping a green or earth-element candle burning in the east as often as possible is an excellent way to energize healing energy. Candles also create an atmosphere of serenity and help to soothe and calm the emotions.

Energize the wood sector (east) of your home with lush green accents, such as pillows, rugs, or window treatments. If the east sector includes the living room, dining room, or any room other than a bedroom, this is an ideal location for a beautiful potted plant. (Live plants are considered too yang for the bedroom.) In an eastern bedroom, use solid wood furniture along with green accent colours.

Adapt the design to maximize sunlight entry and ensure proper cross ventilation.

Create rainwater harvesting pits on the property in the East and North sectors, or the Northeast quadrant, which is considered favourable from a Vastu perspective and helps replenish the groundwater.
