Millennium Art Contemporary Feminist Futures Art, Activism and South Asian Womanhood

Presented by Millennium Art Contemporary, an artist-led initiative, in partnership with the State Art Council, a celebration of women, art and activism recently took center stage as 'Feminist Futures: Art, Activism and South Asian Womanhood' opened at the Lotus Gallery, National Museum. Inaugurated by Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasooriya, and curated by Arshiya Lokhandwala, the exhibition spotlights internationally acclaimed female artists from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan. Millennium Art Contemporary works toward generating interest, expanding opportunities for artists and encouraging discussion on contemporary art in Sri Lanka, and this landmark exhibition reflects that vision.

With striking works that reflect the realities, struggles, and resilience of women across South Asia, the exhibition offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience art as both expression and activism.

On view until 8th October, it calls on the public and art enthusiasts to discover, reflect and be inspired.
