Colombo raves into 2026 with Music, Rhythm and Midnight Magic



As the final hours of the year 2025 slip away, Colombo comes alive with rhythm, lights and anticipation. From grand ballroom galas and beachfront fiestas to rooftop parties, poolside countdowns and intimate family gatherings, New Year’s Eve 2025 promises an unforgettable blend of music, dining and celebration as the city welcomes 2026 in style.

‘Daily Mirror Life’ has unveiled its pick of Colombo’s hottest New Year’s Eve dinner dances, spotlighting a range of glamorous celebrations set to welcome 2026 in style. 

Taj Samudra

Colombo’s year-end party calendar reaches a high note as the popular band ‘Doctor’ takes centre stage on December 31 for the ‘New Year’s Eve Dance 2025’ at the Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo. Known for their energetic performances and crowd-pleasing repertoire, Lanthra Perera and his band promise a night of non-stop music and dance as revellers count down to the New Year in grand style.

The celebrations unfold at the hotel’s elegant Grand Marquee, where live music will blend seamlessly with beats spun by DJ Shane, keeping the dance floor alive well into the early hours of 2026. Tickets for the New Year’s Eve Dance 2025 are priced at Rs. 23,000 nett per person.

Hilton Colombo

Taking the top spot at the other side of the city is Hilton Colombo’s signature gala, ‘High Five to 2026’, which unfolds at the Grand Ballroom with legendar y bands Gypsies and Misty, alongside Falan Andrea. Promising a night of elegance, fine dining, premium spirits and top-tier entertainment, tickets are priced at Rs. 48,888 per person.

Hilton Colombo also turns up the energy outdoors at SunsetBlu, one of the city’s most recognised poolside nightlife venues. This elevated New Year’s Eve party features live music by Cold Sweat, a powerhouse DJ line-up including DJ Hiranya, DJ Dhanushka, DJ Bonnie, DJ Thoshan, DJ Naushad and DJ Kapila Mohotti, with corkage-free spirits and both dinner and breakfast buffets included. Tickets are priced at Rs. 19,888 nett per person.

Cinnamon Life

Dancing Through the Decades at the ‘Lumina Ballroom’, Level 7, features live performances by celebrated Sri Lankan vocalists including Falan, Corrine, Clifford, Geoffrey, Rukshan, Damian, and Sohan, alongside powerhouse bands ‘Aroh’ and ‘Flame’.

Hosted by Kumar De Silva, the evening spans iconic hits from past decades to modern favourites, complemented by raffle draws, exclusive prizes and a memorable midnight countdown. Tickets are priced at Rs 35,000/-

The Kingsbury

Festive vibes continue at The Kingsbury Hotel, where Honey Beach Club hosts ‘Dancing Into 2026’ with live performances by Infinity and DJ E2, while Sky Lounge presents ‘Party in the Sky’ featuring The Kingdom, alongside corporate celebration packages, festive set menus and seasonal cocktails. Tickets are priced at Rs. 20,000 per person.

Ramada Colombo

‘Blast Thru 2025’, Colombo’s legendary New Year’s Eve celebration at the Liberty Ballroom, Ramada by Wyndham, coming alive on December 31 with The Warehouse Project and Freeze. Tickets are priced at Rs. 20,000 per head.

Mount Lavinia Hotel

Mount Lavinia Hotel will ring in the New Year with a grand beachfront celebration titled ‘Midnight in Havana- New Year’s Eve by the Sea’ on 31st December, featuring the energetic sounds of Rajiv and The Clan and Breeze Latin Jazz Band. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant colours, infectious rhythms and festive spirit of Cuba’s capital, the event promises an immersive Havana-style experience at the popular Pool Terrace of Sri Lanka’s most historic seaside hotel. The tickets are priced at Rs 29,000/- net per person.

Galle Face Hotel

For a classic and a refined countdown, the Jubilee Ballroom at Galle Face Hotel hosts a traditional New Year’s Eve celebration with live entertainment by Nalin & Star Combination, exclusive lucky draws and special group offers, making it ideal for families, friends and corporate groups. Tickets are priced at Rs. 20,000 per person. Adding a burst of colour and rhythm, ‘King of the Mambo’ offers a vibrant Latin-inspired celebration with a lively Cuban band and saxophonist, complemented by a flavourful Latin dinner buffet, priced at Rs. 15,000 nett per person.
