Claiming that the state institutions are running at huge loss due to decisions taken by politicians, National People's Power (NPP) MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today that those who were responsible for plunging the state institutions into loss making entities, should be dealt with before privatising them.

He told Parliament that state institutions such as SriLankan Airlines and Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) were found to have been loss making bodies due to actions of the politicians.

"SriLankan incurred huge losses due to Airbus deal and fraudulent actions of its officials. Onetime Chairman of the SriLankan, a close relative of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa brought down a SriLankan flight to Singapore without waiting for a scheduled flight. SriLankan is recording heavy loss due to such arbitrary actions. CPC is incurring huge losses due to actions such as the Hedging deal," he said.

The MP said President Ranil Wickremesinghe said in his budget speech that state institutions are overcrowded and added that those institutions are unnecessarily filled by politicians through political appointments.

He said the politicians who are responsible for these evil actions would never find solutions to the present crisis and said a new government should be formed with new mandate. (Ajith Siriwardana)

JVP has now lost the little favour it had with the people. There is the view that the leopard has not changed its spots. They oppose everything and want to ram down their ideology and views on solution down the throat of the country. They are unaccustomed and unable to compromise. AKD is talking more about changes than is SJB or Sajith. The SLPP faction who still in opposition won't even vote in the next budget vote. Anurakumara's vision is impressive and taken seriously, govt. should take action against officials who were responsible for the loss making decisions, mostly political appointments were greatly responsible for such losses, govt.should move quickly to address these issues.

If a new government has been appointed through legitimate elections, JVP will no long secure a single SEAT in parliament. JVP's former leader Rohana Wijeweera, robbed the nation, and his entire party members are responsible for the situation we face right now. On what grounds CEB Charges were increased with unprecedented formula ? Any losses incurred by CEB is mainly due to excessive labour by politicians, large scale corruptions, less out-put of the workforce etcetera. Then why did they raised charges from us instead of taking stern actions for the accountable ? Hence, do the needful !
