Whilst stating that there is nothing wrong in getting assistance from foreign countries and international organizations to provide free meals to school children, the Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha today and he also said the opposition members should come forward to meet foreign diplomats and seek assistance for the nation.

Minister Premajayantha was referring to the reports which said he had even begged for assistance from the USA to feed the school children.

“I am prepared to beg from foreign nations and international institutions to provide free mid-day meals for the schoolchildren. I also request the opposition parties to meet the foreign diplomats and do their best for Sri Lanka,” he said.

“The yellow split lentils and canned fish donated by the US Department of agriculture will be provided to school children shortly. This program will be monitored by the 'Save the Children' organization,” he added.

He recalled that Sri Lanka was donated a consignment of rice from China as well. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)

You don't need to beg any one or any country..bring all stolen money by MR and co .. It is enough to feed entire Srilankan pupils in all schools for next 10 years or more . You can't fool people any longer and people teach you all in next election . Out of 225 at least 125 must be ready to go home next election .. People are frustrated with all those thieves and you all are bone less politicians and you all don't love this country if you do so why let MR and co loot all public money ?

The entire world including previously one of the poorest Bangladesh is making humiliatingly comments on Srilanka. This is not a good situation at all. We all should get united as one Srilankan community and strive for the betterment of the country. It is very clear that some of powerful countries would like to see our country becoming poorer and poorer so that they can poke their hands easily and suppress it further. That is what they do with loans and aids. We the Srilankans have to understand this bitter truth otherwise country will collapse further and chances of recovery will be very remote.
