A luxury motor vehicle crashed into a filling station today at Madiwela. Police said the pump attendant was seriously injured in the accident and was admitted to the Kalubowila hospital.
They said the vehicle rammed into the filling station as it was driven at high speed and the man behind the wheel was unable to control it. The vehicle first collided with a motorcycle parked near the pump and came to a halt after running over the pump attendant and crashing against a three-wheeler.
The Mirihana police recorded a statement from the driver who said that the accident took place due to brake failure.

Very much doubtful whether the Driver did it purposely because of Anger waiting in the long queue.
Hubert Congreve Friday, 02 September 2022 09:31 AM
Now Minister Kanchana will have to work hard to supply the usual flow of Fuel without queues and avoid such incidents.
Kamal Bolawansa Friday, 02 September 2022 09:33 AM
President and the Minister concerned is responsible for this nasty act. Hay in the future the similar nasty acts will take place if you make people to wait in queues.

Driver who is an old man would have pressed the accelerator instead of the brake otherwise the impact would not be so severe. Automatic cars have the brake and accelerator in close proximity without a clutch.
Minister Friday, 02 September 2022 12:42 PM
Oh my God... angry driver did this damage waiting in the long queue for a long time. Now Minister Kanchana should look into the matter serious, otherwise some other worst incidents on this nature could happen.
Prof. H.D.M. Hemachandra - Kotte Friday, 02 September 2022 12:44 PM
Kanchana avoid Queues and reduce the prices of Fuel adhering to the world market.

First is why drive so fast when approaching a stop. Possibility of the Driver could have been after alcohol or drugs. Brake failure is unacceptable, may have further pressed the accelerator instead of brake pedal.

If this has committed by someone who is close to a powerful polititcian, then they will get their own investigators to prove it was caused by brake failiure. This is how our politicians and their friends get away with everything.
