THE ECONOMIC TIMES - The National Testing Agency (NTA) said the government has restricted Telegram in India for a limited period and asked the platform to disable message editing, after cheating rackets used it to spread fake NEET leak claims. The steps are aimed at protecting candidates ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on June 21.
NTA will restrict access to the messaging platform until June 22, while the message-editing ban will remain in force until June 30. It said the measures are meant to stop the circulation of fabricated “paper leak” evidence and protect public order.
NTA added that there is no paper outside the secured exam chain and urged students to rely only on official updates. It also said fraud complaints can be reported through the national cybercrime helpline and portal.
