Nothing can save Sri Lanka cricket from it's current predicament as long as money does all the talking. Even politicians who never held a bat have got so addicted to the game these days because of million dollars of money that is flowing from heaven into the coffers of the Sri Lanka cricket Board.

For a legend or anyone else to revive SL cricket they need to be dedicated and ihs success won't be a result of the money you are going to pay him Once appointed there should be no interference from outside. In short he should be given the independence and power to do his job and then held accountable if he does not deliver

I live in a country where there is no interferennce in sports whatsoever and they are currently the World Test Cricket Champions, T20 World Cup Champions and the ODI Cricket World Cup Champions. All the ICC cricket trophies on offer. I don't even know the name of the Minister of Sports in charge of cricket because there are more important issues than cricket They say sports and politics don't mix.

If a legend can save Sri Lanka Cricket think again. Australia's current cricket coach and former cricket coach of Victoria Andrew McDonald is no legend and has played just four test matches for Australia before he was asked to replace legend Justin Langer the former coach as the current cricket coach of the champion Australian cricket team. You don't need a legend to save Sri Lanka cricket but just cricketing talent is what is needed which i think is lacking in the current players.

Sri Lanka needs a sports psychologist to make the team believe in themselves and a disciplinarian to take over the training. Big names will not change anything if there is no commitment from the players.

Jai Shah the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India who is alleged to be running Sri Lanka cricket is no legend and has hardly played any cricket for india but has plenty of money to pump into Sri Lanka cricket to destroy the game of cricket in Sri Lanka as seen during recent events in this country.

I have always felt SLC's adamant ways of supporting bowlers with faulty actions instead of correcting them from a young age may have led to a false sense of achievement. While SL produced some world class batsmen and great fielders, their bowling was always weak barring few.
