Cinnamon Grand held its quarterly Associates’ Meeting for the first quarter of the financial year 2017/2018 to appreciate and reward noteworthy contributions of dedicated associates.
The event held at the hotel’s ballroom room on July 11, saw the participation of over 400 associates and heads of departments.
The most coveted award, The General Manager’s Award was shared by U. V. T. M Rajakaruna from Laundry for his honesty and integrity in returning significant amounts of cash and valuable jewellery, found in clothing items sent by guests and Lalith Rathanasekera from Engineering for impactful assistance in creating over 125 Vesak lanterns whilst performing his normal job tasks.
The Super Star Awards went to Indika Siriwardena (Front Office) for his customer focus and revenue oriented strategy and J. Hareendiran from Banquet Operations for his exceptional customer service and commitment.
The Grand Stars for the quarter were Sampath Thushara Bandara (Kitchen Stewarding), U. D. A. Linton (Housekeeping), K. C. S Kumara (Food and Beverage) and W. T. C. Fernando (Front Office).
The ‘Grand Stars’ are nominated by each department head, and selected on votes garnered. ‘Super Stars’ are the nominees that have highest votes. All ‘Stars’ were rewarded with a cash price, dinner for two voucher, a bottle of sparkling and a letter of recognition from Sector Head-City Hotels Rohan Karr.
