President vows equal justice, tough action on corruption

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has reaffirmed his commitment to enforcing the law equally for all citizens, stressing that measures already taken will not be reversed. Addressing an event in Colombo, the President stated, “They can shout, cry and complain as much as they like, but the steps we have taken will not be reversed.” President Dissanayake also highlighted instances of public funds being diverted through unofficial channels to personal accounts of ministers instead of being deposited into the Treasury.   

He warned that any wrongful acquisition of state funds will be reclaimed and those responsible will face strict punishment.
